Terrible experience

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

The sales person told me there was hundreds of jobs I can bid on in my area. After a couple of months I had no jobs that I was able to bid and was out almost a thousand dollars.

When they printed their magazine they had my spelled wrong, and they had services listed for my company that I don't provide.

When I went to cancel they would not let me cancel but after talking to a couple of people that let me cancel. After spending a thousand dollars I have nothing to show for it.

Unable to cancel contract

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

We initiated a 12 month contract (as advertised by Sean Clark) with the Blue Book in June 2019. In June of 2019 we agreed to pay $230/ month for a contractor based network service which was suppose to provide job/contractor connection in your area.

Since our first day of signing up we have yet to receive any solicitation requesting our services let alone had any of the contacted contractors reach out for our services. After nine months I contacted our sales rep and let him know that the program was not working in our favor. The rep (Sean Clark) completely agreed and said that this program was not tailored to our company/industry. However I agreed to fulfill the remaining months of our contract until June 2020.

In mid March 2020 we were severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. I contacted Sean to cancel our remaining three months and apologized for not being able to fulfill the contract due to what was going on. Sean then contacted corporate who instructed him to remove any future automatic billing but that I was still liable to pay a remaining $690 left on the contract. Sean then proceeds to tell me that Blue Book should remove any remaining balance and if they do not, to contact his manager Steve Oreck.

I then began a conversation with Mr. Oreck who informs me that they will not forgo any remaining balance and that it will have to be paid.

I relayed to Mr. Oreck that my business has suffered severely during this time and that the Blue Book program has not benefited us in the past nine months, in return he told me "do what's best for your business but we will not remove the $690''.

Dennis, As if right now they will not for go the remaining balance. They are threatening to send the remaining amount to collections if we do not pay.

We still have never gained a single customer or job from blue book. This company steals money from small businesses

Scam, Liars, Unethical

The Blue Book Network - Scam, Liars, Unethical

Met with a salesman who tried to get me to sign a contract. I told him I wasn’t signing a contract.

He then told me I didn’t need to sign the contract because I could cancel the service at anytime so I gave him my credit card information. After a year with not one successful job lead and 90% of the leads 4 or more hours away I called to cancel the service. I was told I could not cancel because I was under contract. When I argued that I never signed a contract their response was giving them my card info constitutes a contract and referred to an email they sent me AFTER I had given them my card info.

The email came with a box next to the statement “I agree to terms and conditions” the box was prechecked and I could not uncheck it. They will not stop charging my card $210 per month.

It looks like the terms and conditions are listed clearly.

Guest

They did to me the same. Identical.

Guest

Why did you not show your signature above the checked box? My rep has directly referred us to multiple GC who have hired, and paid.

My company profited over 180K our first year as a member. Perhaps your not doing your part by communicating, bidding, etc.. Hopefully this salesman who tricked you is no longer employed at the company.

What strikes me as odd is you say there was no communication thread between you and him about a no Cancelation policy....and you just give someone your cc info over the phone knowing its a 3 year agreement..../You were made aware of the terms immediately when you received the email, as you stated, why not reach out to corporate then? Take a stand immediately if you did NOT I fact sign the agreements and make the conscious decision to move forward with your agreement for at least a year.

Horrible way to do “business”. They truly look to hook anyone they can get their information.

Glad you got work out of it.

You are not the rule but the exception. Too many legitimate ways to get business.

As a manufacturer, of custom Overhead Doors that caters to the construction industry, we were looking for a platform that covers our entire marketing area. Blue Book Delivers!!!

We use several features that Blue Book has including Networking Meet & Greets, Weekly News Updates, Engage, all combined to have real opportunity's unmatched. We have received plenty of backup support for all levels of Blue Book personnel to make this happen.

It's a nice thing to have an over abundance of opportunities in our industry.

I had a sales rep following me for about six months finally I had a moment to meet with them just to see what they had to say I heard a lot of promises and I was told I was tentatively going to be placed on their website and they were going to place all my information and I would immediately start to see calls Flooding in I received one and the person did nothing but waste my time I never even met them but then for several days after I received other calls claiming they were from the bluebook and I can hear right through their *** So I stop taking phone calls and responding to emails from these people because just like everyone else is describing they are pathetic people trying to fill their pockets with t other peoples money that do honest work for a living !

Well I am glad you guys was able to warn me about these people. I have seen about 2-3 good reviews out of all these reviews.

So with that being said. I am not going with these guys.

Scam . Complete waste of money

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

After a signed 2 year contract at about 350 month, I decided to not renew and i told the blue book so. However they continued to charge my credit card on file.

So I cancelled the card and took care of that. Now I am getting bill collectors attempting to collect re accruing monthly charges. After explaining I finished the contract and no longer wanted to re new there have no reasonable response. This unethical business practice gets me so upset I'd rather spend 10,000 on attorneys than the 4500 they are demanding.

The company is a joke. Stay away.

Not what I was told it was

I owned an insurance agency when I met Nancy with Blue Book. She convinced me to sign up for a two year contract so the Blue Book contractors would contact me for their insurance needs.

I was told that Blue Book people always turn to the Blue Book for their needs. This is a BOLD FACED LIE. Not once did my phone ring, not once

I spent the next year trying to find clients from Blue Book. I sent postcards, attended meetings, followed up but no one would give me or my agents the time of day.

I contacted them to tell them that I would like to negotiate an exit from the contract.

They flat refuse to do that.

I've been nice. I keep trying to work with them, but I think they want to sue me now because I closed my agency and no longer want to pay their fees.

They are truly unethical.

After many calls to the Sales Rep and Customer Service Department the Supervisor called and looked into the issue! I was credited back every cent I paid and was validated for my troubles and concerns.

Thank you BlueBook! Gavin

Do not do it! Waste of time and money!

They are ready to help you get set up and get your credit card, after that is just lies and stalling to get you sucked into the billing period with ZERO results. Then just try to get your rep, ours is Sean Clark, to return a phone call or do anything to cancel your subscription.

Lies, misrepresentation and stalling while they steal your money, one month at a time! Oh and they won't respond when you want to cancel.

Hello Gavin, Our company currently has REALLY bad experience with the Blue Book, and we no longer want to do business with them; so I am curious of how you finalized with them. Please read my comment below, and I am very grateful for your suggestions.

I read through many comments in these posts, and I can totally relate to everyone's situation. Back in June, 2019 Ms. Shanel Mollica from the Blue Book reached out to us multiple times, and she illustrated all the benefits we would receive if we signed up with BB. We finally signed a one-year contract with her in September of 2019, so we are still actively involved with BB until 9, 2020.

In March 26 of 2020, Ms. Mollica contacted me due to the slowdown of the Covid-19, and she offered an additional service to our company WITHOUT charge for the next night months. However, the document she emailed to me had a two-year-term (9/2020 to 9/2022), so I emailed her back to request for explanation. Rather than emailing me back, she CALLED me to explain that two years was only for documentation… if I wanted the free additional service.

Besides, I can cancel the additional service anytime I wanted to as long as it's before September 1, 2020. Due to the pandemic, our work has really slowed, and we wanted to control our expenses; so we reached out to her on Monday (5/22/2020) to notify her that we will not continue our membership with the Blue Book after August of 2020. Ms. Mollica didn’t call me back, but texted me a note indicated that I must continue TWO MORE YEARS with the Blue Book since I signed with her back in March 26.

She also requested that we call the corporate if we wanted to resolve this situation. I immediately called BB corporation in New York, and they said only Ms. Mollica can cancel my “future contract”. After I read these posts, I noticed that the BB company uses this tactic with all their customers.

I emailed to Ms. Mollica that we will pay the remaining balance of our one-year-term contract for an amount of $690 ($230/month), and we even willing to cut our current contract early as of today; so her company will profit 3 months without sending any leads to us. The only one thing we are requesting is to CANCEL our “future contract” with the Blue Book. Her respond was she cannot terminate the contract now, but she can “decide” into it in September.

After reading all these complaints, I see a dishonest pattern from the Blue Book representatives because they don’t keep their promise. I DO NOT want to wait until September to get her blessing, but I want to proactively find legitimate routes to get out of my “future contract”.

Therefore, I am reaching out to you, whom have dealt with the Blue Book in the past, and hope to learn some wisdom from you. Thank you in advance and hope to learn much from you FYI, our company is operating out of Garden Grove (Orange County), California

Go on Facebook, this site and post a scathing review of the pattern of dishonesty. Don’t make it too long, just the basics and offer for customers to call you directly.

Go to LinkedIn and find the CEO and explain the details in a diplomatic way. I also called the salesman’s supervisor and Manager of the branch to describe the sheister’s actions, lies and ghosting me when it was time to cancel in the first 30 days. I also left a series of messages demanding results that I could document to the salesman. Don’t give up and don’t settle.

I received every penny back against my credit card.

Had my contract cancelled and still get free leads. Gavin

Did the cancellation affect your company credit? Thank you Dennis

I almost thought I wrote that myself, but the exact same thing happened in the Orange County/ LA market. They kept charging my card about 6 times a month without any emails or phone calls and I have tried many times to email and call them.

Not only that but every one of those so called “bid opportunities” is from another contractor who doesn’t even have the job yet or to waste your time and money. I had to close my account too since they didn’t respond.

I’m still pissed off from them telling me about a “2 year contrac”! They can take that 2 year contract and shove it way up their ***
